I feel pleased with myself as I’ve spent the past 15 minutes with a wild rabbit, and called the RSPCA about it.
Turns out the rabbit has mixamatosis (not sure on spelling) harmless to you and I or other animals but deadly to rabbits.
The symptoms are bulging and weeping eyes which are virtually shut, but by that time they’re blind. The best thing to do is put it in a box and go to the vet where it will be put to sleep for free.
On the positive side I found out that RSPCA has lots of tame rabbits needing homes and for a small amount of money you can get a pair that have been neutered, vaccinated and chipped.
